The 2024 Jewel City Concert Series is set to bring five free outdoor concerts to the Artsakh Paseo in Glendale, California. Running from September 28 through October 26, 2024, the event will feature performances every Saturday at 5:00 PM, with a variety of musical acts from across Southern California. Each concert will last approximately 60 minutes without an intermission. While seating is not provided, attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs for the performances. The series is sponsored by the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission, with support from Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, and funded by the Urban Art Program.

September 28, 2024 – 5:00 PM: Logan Hone Band
The opening performance will feature the Logan Hone Band, known for their infectious energy and joyful performances. Logan Hone, a Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, will bring his all-star band to the event for a lively set featuring jazz, cumbia, and pop influences. Hone’s music has been described as “effervescent” and “crazy positive.” His projects, such as the 2020 album Feel-Good Instrumental Music!, have garnered acclaim, and he has directed an all-ages community band at Hermon Park since 2018. This performance promises to be an upbeat and joyful musical experience.
October 5, 2024 – 5:00 PM: Rogue Lemon Collective
Rogue Lemon Collective, a group of classically trained string musicians, will take the stage on October 5. The collective is known for pushing the boundaries of traditional string music, blending genres, and showcasing innovative compositions. Their performances are a fresh twist on classical music, incorporating elements from various musical styles. The name “Rogue Lemon” symbolizes their bold, unconventional approach, aiming to redefine perceptions of string music.
October 12, 2024 – 5:00 PM: Dream Phases
Dream Phases, a Los Angeles-based rock/pop band, will perform on October 12. Known for their psychedelic textures, catchy melodies, and danceable tunes, the band has toured extensively in the U.S. and internationally since 2016. With four albums and three singles already released, they are gearing up to release their fifth album this year. Their upcoming performance will feature their signature mix of energetic rock and pop, creating an engaging live experience for fans.
October 19, 2024 – 5:00 PM: J Güero
On October 19, J Güero, a Latin electronica project founded by Chilean producer Juan Covarrubias, will bring a unique electronic sound to the series. J Güero has released several EPs and singles since its inception in 2019, and the project has collaborated with notable artists such as Enrique Bunbury and Carolina Eyck. Their work has been featured in Rolling Stone magazine, and they have performed at major festivals like Ruido Fest and SXSW.
October 26, 2024 – 5:00 PM: Ominous Duck
Closing out the series will be Ominous Duck, a post-grunge rock band formed by four Los Angeles teenagers. Inspired by the sounds of their generation, Ominous Duck channels youthful defiance and a longing for connection through their music. Their performances aim to convey messages of hope and solidarity, making them a fitting finale for the Jewel City Concert Series.
