Glendale Water and Power is currently developing a solar and energy storage adoption plan aimed at maximizing the use of renewable energy within the City of Glendale. The plan sets a target of having at least 10% of customers adopt solar and energy storage systems by December 31, 2027.
To gather valuable insights and feedback from the community, a series of community meetings will be held. Below are the details:

- Saturday, March 2, 2024, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM @ Sparr Heights Community Center
- Monday, March 11, 2024, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Zoom (link will be provided closer to the meeting date)
- Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM @ Adult Recreation Center
- Thursday, May 30, 2024, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM @ Sparr Heights Community Center

The solar and energy storage plan will evaluate adoption potential and consider various policies and incentives to achieve the adoption and capacity goals, including:
- The feasibility of achieving the City Council’s goals
- Net metering policies
- Feed-in tariff program
- Upfront incentives or rebates on solar installations
- Upfront rebates combined with performance-based incentives for battery storage systems
- Policies aimed at lower-income customers, heavily pollution-burdened areas, multifamily properties, and rental properties
- Community solar projects
- Additionally, the plan will analyze the benefits and costs, including economic, environmental, societal, and other factors.
