The City of Glendale’s Community Services & Parks Department will open four community centers as cooling stations from Tuesday, October 1, 2024, through Monday, October 7, 2024, in response to the forecasted heat wave. Residents are encouraged to use these centers during the hottest parts of the day, especially if they do not have access to a cool environment. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed at all times.
For additional information, including translations and tips on staying safe in extreme heat, residents can visit the city’s website at GlendaleCA.gov/BeatTheHeat. Glendale also offers water play options to help residents cool off. The splash pad at Cerritos Park is open on weekends from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, while the Pacific Community Pool offers recreational swimming daily. Full details, including operating hours, can be found at GlendaleAquatics.org.
