Glendale Hosts Electric Landscaping Equipment Workshop and Demonstration

In preparation for Glendale’s upcoming ban on gas-powered leaf blowers, the City of Glendale will enforce the prohibition starting September 1, 2024. This ordinance prohibits the use of gas-powered leaf blowers and holds homeowners and property owners within the city accountable for compliance. To support residents, landscapers, and businesses in transitioning to zero-emission alternatives, the Office of Sustainability is organizing an event with the American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA) to demonstrate electric landscaping equipment before enforcement and citations begin.

Event Details:

  • What: Electric Landscaping Equipment Workshop and Demonstration
  • When: Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Where: Verdugo Park, 1621 Canada Blvd, Glendale, CA 91208

The event will feature electric landscaping equipment manufacturers and professionals available for attendees to test equipment and learn about zero-emission landscaping. Staff will also be present to answer questions about the ordinance and obtaining rebates. Currently, rebates for the purchase of electric landscaping equipment, including electric leaf blowers, are available for landscapers through the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Residents and businesses can also receive a rebate for electric leaf blowers through Glendale Water and Power.
