Glendale’s Earth Month Fest: Embracing Sustainability

In April, the City of Glendale, in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability, invites the community to participate in Earth Month, featuring a series of environmentally conscious events and initiatives. Themed “Reconnect with the Earth,” this year’s Earth Month Fest aims to inspire residents to embrace environmental stewardship, deepen their understanding of the planet, and actively engage in sustainable practices.

Highlight of the Month: The Earth Day Fair

The Earth Day Fair, scheduled for Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at Verdugo Park from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, serves as the cornerstone event of Earth Month. This zero-waste fair offers a day of fun for families, kids, teens, and adults, featuring educational activities, interactive games, rock climbing, face painting, carnival games, and more.

Attendees will enjoy performances by “We Tell Stories” and the “SoCal Mobile Zoo,” showcasing cool critters. With over 30 booths from vendors and community groups, alongside food trucks offering delicious eats, the fair encourages attendees to bring their own water bottles, containers, and cutlery, and to travel to the fair by walking, biking, or public transit in honor of Earth Day.

Engage in Sustainability Throughout the Month

The Earth Month Fest extends beyond the Earth Day Fair, offering Glendale residents numerous opportunities to engage with their environment throughout April and into May. Highlights include:

  • Electric Car Guest Drive: Test drive electric cars on April 6th, 2024, at the Isabel Parking Lot at City Hall from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Registration required.
