Glendale Police Confiscate Two Firearms in Separate Incidents

On the evening of June 6, 2024, Glendale Police Department’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) officers conducted a traffic stop near Adams and Palmer for traffic violations. The vehicle was occupied by Andy Gomez, 35, of Los Angeles, a known gang member, and a female passenger. Both individuals became uncooperative when questioned by the officers. Following their removal from the vehicle, a search revealed a 9mm ghost gun, narcotics, and unlawfully possessed access cards. Both Gomez and the female passenger were subsequently arrested on various charges, including gun, narcotics, and identity theft violations.

In a separate incident on June 8, 2024, patrol officers on proactive duty in the area of Western and Lake, due to recent gang-related graffiti, identified a suspicious vehicle. Upon making contact and conducting a search, officers discovered a loaded firearm beneath the driver’s seat along with gang-related items inside the vehicle. The occupants, Angel Cruz Reyes, 20, of Burbank, and two juveniles, were arrested for possession of a concealed firearm and other gang-related offenses.

Earlier in the week, on June 4, 2024, Glendale SED officers also successfully removed a firearm from the streets. Details regarding the June 4th arrest can be found here.
