In September 2024, the City of Glendale will begin enforcing its new ordinance prohibiting the use of gas-powered leaf blowers. This measure holds homeowners and property owners accountable for compliance. To facilitate the transition to zero-emission landscaping alternatives for residents, landscapers, and businesses, the Office of Sustainability is collaborating with the American Green Zone Alliance (AGZA) to organize an event showcasing electric landscaping equipment.
What: Electric Landscaping Equipment Workshop and Demonstration
When: Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Where: Verdugo Park, 1621 Canada Blvd. Glendale, CA 91208
Manufacturers of electric landscaping equipment and landscaping professionals will be present to allow attendees to test equipment and gain insights into zero-emissions landscaping practices. Additionally, staff will be available to address inquiries regarding the ordinances and rebate programs. Currently, landscapers can benefit from rebates for the purchase of electric landscaping equipment, including electric leaf blowers, offered by the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Furthermore, residents and businesses can access rebates for electric leaf blowers through Glendale Water and Power.
