A grim discovery unfolded Wednesday evening as law enforcement responded to a residence on Reta Street, where a body was found. The incident led to the apprehension of a suspect, who surrendered after a prolonged standoff, authorities reported.

The sequence of events began around 2:15 p.m. when Glendale police received a distressing call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence in the 3300 block of Reta Street. Upon arrival, officers uncovered evidence suggesting an assault had taken place, yet both the suspect and the victim were nowhere to be found. In response, nearby schools were briefly placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.
