On Tuesday, authorities reported a fatal crash in Glendale, where a man in his 70s lost his life. The incident occurred at 8:24 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Elm Avenue, as detailed by Glendale police Sgt. A. Chacon to City News Service.
The westbound 23-year-old driver of a black BMW lost control of the vehicle, veering into eastbound lanes and colliding with a silver Honda, Chacon explained. Tragically, the passenger in the Honda, a man in his 70s, succumbed to the injuries at the scene, while the driver, also in his 70s, was transported to the hospital with a broken leg and pelvis.
The BMW driver, also sustaining injuries, was hospitalized and subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI. However, it remains uncertain whether the impairment was due to drugs or alcohol.
