As we approach the new year, minimum wage earners in California can anticipate a modest boost in their paychecks. The current hourly minimum wage of $15.50 for all employers in the state will see a rise to $16 starting on January 1.

California is among the 22 states implementing a minimum wage increase in 2024. Notably, Washington will maintain its position with the highest minimum wage in the nation at $16.28 per hour.
